WINCHESTER ROYAL HOTEL, WINCHESTER

Join us for a weekend at the Winchester Royal Hotel set in the heart of this beautiful cathedral city. The hotel was originally built in the 16^th century as a private house and is only a stone’s throw from the city centre. The award winning Conservatory Restaurant has a fine local reputation for superb food and service.

The weekend begins with a welcome reception on Friday evening, followed by dinner and bridge.  We offer 4 sessions of duplicate or supervised bridge during your stay plus the popular morning seminars with Neil Rosen. The weekend comes to a close with a prize-giving ceremony on Sunday afternoon. 

There will be time to explore the town. Winchester is a paradise for shopping connoisseurs, boasting a tempting array of independent shops, boutiques and galleries. The city's compact, pedestrian-friendly streets are a refreshing alternative to large-scale malls found elsewhere. The provisions market takes place every Wednesday through to Saturday.  Don’t forget to visit the Cathedral and a visit to The Great Hall - the only surviving part of Winchester Castle is a must. Once home to the Domesday Book, this 13th century hall was the centre of court and government life. The Round Table, closely associated with the legendary King Arthur, has hung here for over 600 years. For the more energetic, the Leisure Centre is just a short walk from the hotel, facilities include an indoor heated pool, squash courts and gym.

Winchester is less than two hours from London. Ace Holidays will be organising a return coach for those not wishing to drive. Return coach fare is £40.

The weekend runs from Friday evening to Sunday and is full board. EARLYBIRD OFFER:-  For bookings and deposits received by August 1^st 2008, the price per person sharing a twin or double room is £215. Single occupancy of a twin or double is £235. Upgrades available:- Garden View £225 per person sharing or £245 for sole occupancy. Executive Double £235 per person (2 people sharing) and Suites £250 per person (2 people sharing). For deposits received from August 2^nd 2008 all prices will be £30 per person more than the prices above.
